Dr Kirsty MacFarlane from MacMurray Centre is a gastroenterologist with a special interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). She completed medical training at the University of Auckland, with specialist gastroenterology training in Auckland and Christchurch, before undertaking an advanced IBD fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in 2023. Dr Kirsty also has subspecialty expertise in Intestinal Ultrasound, with accreditation in endoscopy and intestinal ultrasound. She is passionate about delivering high-quality care, improving health equity, and supporting patients living with digestive health conditions.

Dr Hla Thein is a locally trained Auckland nephrologist with expertise across all aspects of renal medicine. He has a special interest in chronic kidney disease, hypertension (including renovascular and difficult-to-control blood pressure), glomerulonephritis, vasculitis, kidney stones, and renal replacement therapies including haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and kidney transplantation. Dr Thein also performs specialised renal access procedures, including temporary and tunnelled Vascath insertion for haemodialysis and Tenckhoff catheter insertion for peritoneal dialysis.
